My Gigs
Zaarly.com: A real-time buyer powered market place. Make an offer for anything you want, or cash in on other offers.
GeoCommons.com: The web's most powerful geographic platform, it's the best way to store, share, visualize and analyze geographic data. It brings advanced cartography to mere mortals. Upload a spreadsheet and map it. Layer on one of thousands of pubic-source data layers and you have something you can use to make well informed decisions.
HitFix.com: An entertainment website with a calendar that combines movie, television, local events and more into a single "entertainment forecast". I built some of the early iterations and helped with the front-end buildout for the production release.
Things I Like
Minimalist Gmail: a Firefox extension and Chrome Add-on that I built that simplifies Gmail by removing all the distracting clutter. See the announcement on ZenHabits.
UI Design: the type that takes something crazy complex and makes it seem as simple as a toaster.
Ruby: The first programming language I found that allows me to clearly and concisely express my thoughts in code.
Javascript: The most ubiquitous language on the net, it's developed into a language that can make my UI concepts a reality.
Photography: Specializing in things that don't move. Urban, nature, landscapes and whatever else catches my eye. My favorite shots are below, on flickr and I have some giant gigapan panoramas too.
Context Free Art: A fun community dedicated to a super simple language that makes surprisingly complex and diverse imagery. Here’s an image I made that was included in the book.
Travel: My wife and I travel full-time and work remotely. We live in beautiful places around the country in vacation houses we find through HomeAway and vrbo.com. Here's all the pictures we’ve been taking. My Flickr Photostream has the highlights.
